Verse of the Month
|
"They are not all alike. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community who recite the revelations of Allah in the night season, falling prostrate (before Him). They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency, and invite one with another in good works. These are of the righteous."
Chapter 3 Verse 113-114

Hadith of the Month
|
"Narrated Abu Huraira: Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way.
So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights."

[Back to Home Page] MCWS Activities/Projects - Please get involve, click here! MCWS offers great opportunities especially its Youth and Young Professionals to get involve and take leadership role in some of its on-going activities and key projects for the year 2009.
Some of the main ones are:
ACTIVITIES
1. Angels Circle -
We had started this activity for quite some time. We now need some more energy and ideas to re-start with more vigor.
2. Monday Community talks -
We have a 5 minute talk every Monday after Isha in the winter and after maghrib in the summer. This talk is given by community members. Good opportunity for young professionals to come and express their view points. Please contact Ajaz Hizkil at hizkil786@aol.com. if you are interested.
3. Hockey/TableTennis -
apparently has lost interest. This has to be restarted.
2009 PROJECTS:
4. MCWS Internet / Computing Infrastrucutre Setup -
As most of you have heard by now that we are implementing not just wireless at MCWS, but also a computing infrastructure with a complete file server that will house MCWS's information.
5. MCWS Multi-Media /Communications Equipment -
Along with the computing infrastructure, we are also studying the feasibility of having a flat screen TV/Projector in the sisters masjid area and 2 more flat screen TV/Projectors in the GYM and one of the classrooms. These TVs/Projectors will be used to broadcast the speaker at the MCWS mimbaar or doing it independently. Additionally we are going to be placing a digital signage screen inside the main hallway that will rotate the activities and happenings at MCWS.
6. Sunday School Online Registration/Payment Process -
We are working on an application that will provide online registration and payment for Sunday School classes. Parents will have an option to create an account or register ontime. They can also use Google Checkout to make payment instantly and get a confirmation right away. This will help to reduce late registration and any other delays in this process and enhance the daily work for the Sunday School Adminstration.
7. IQRA Library Online Project -
We need IT professionals to help us launch our new Online Library Project on the website. This application will allow patrons to book/add/edit/delete/view our catalog online.
8. Website Enhancements -
We have a bunch of small enhancements and features that need to be added on our website. They include:
1.New Event Calendar and View Page
2.Membership Enhancements
3.Home Page Redesign
4.New MCWS Official Logo
9. Sister's Restroom Renovation -
Inshallah this project will be finished sometime in 2009.
10. Community Banquet Hall -
As you all know, the Basement is going to be renovated into a beautiful Banquet Hall with proper furniture, stage, bathrooms, serving counter and a small kitchen. This project is planned to end in 2009.
OPPORTUNITIES
11. MCWS Youth Assistant Director -
Most of you know that MCWS has been looking for a qualified youth assistant director - though we have had quite a few applicants, none were of them were of the caliber that we felt we need to take our community's youth to the next level. If you know any qualified applicants, please let us know.
So as you can see, all of these activities require *lot* of hours of planning and implementation. But beyond that, it requires a great deal of dedication
So these are the opportunities where you can get involved right off the bat.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVE
Please email us at mcws.info@gmail.com and let us know what activity you would like to be involved in. If none of these activities interest you, then please send us your ideas and we can try to implement those as well.
Your input is very valuable to us.
Jazakallah hu khairan
