3.Shaykh Hasan from Toronto visiting MCWS - Sept 26 - 27th

We are pleased to have Shaykh Hasan visit us Sept 26-28 as a POSSIBLE candidate for the MCWS Assistant Imam position. Shaykh Hasan was born and raised in the West, but studied traditionally through a full alim track subsequent to becoming Hafiz of Quran. He has extensive experience as an Imam, works well with youth, and is formally training as a social worker. (Please read the short bio below). PLEASE COME MEET HIM AT THE FOLLOWING EVENTS:

Schedule for his visit:
1. Friday, Sept 26th at 1:40pm: 2nd Juma at MCWS
2. Friday, Sept 26th at 7:30pm: Angels Circle ("Touched by an Angel")
3. Saturday, Sept 27th, 11:00am: Seminar ("Seerah of Jesus")

Short bio:

Born and raised in Toronto Canada, Shaykh Hasan had the great fortune of being able to memorize the entire Quran by the age of fifteen and ever since has been leading Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers. After completing the memorization of Quran he went on to complete and graduate with honors from the traditional 7 year curriculum covering the Arabic language, Arabic morphology, Islamic jurisprudence, Tafseer (exegesis), Hadith, Philosophy, and ‘Aqidah (Islamic Creed) under the guidance of many great scholars from various parts of the world. Shaykh Hasan is also an alumnus of Durham College where he graduated with honors in Counseling and Addictions and is currently pursuing his Masters in Social work at Ryerson University.

Since 2005 Shaykh Hasan has been serving as the Administrator of Religious and Social Affairs at one of the most vibrant and well respected Centers in the Greater Toronto Area, Pickering Islamic Centre. It is there that he has played a great role in building a thriving community from lecturing, teaching, counseling individuals and families, and founding a sports league for teenagers and youth with intellectual special needs known as DMAA. Shaykh Hasan delivers weekly Tafseer sessions, overlooks educational programming and has mastered the art of holding Dawah sessions for people of other faiths drawing in over 2500 Catholic students on an annual basis.

What: "Quranic Arabic - Strengthen your bond with Book of ALLAH (SWT)"
Instructor: Haroon Malik - Student of Bayyinah Institute Quran Arabic Program
Who can Attend: Anyone from Kids to Adults who has a strong desire to understand the meaning of Quran in their salah and recitation.
Pre-requisite: must know how to read quran
Class Details: Students will go through basic arabic language structure:
Pronouns
Verbs
-Past, present
-commands
-negations
-past negations
Singular/Dual/Plural
Nouns
Basically within couple months, they'll be able to look at the words in quran and figure out if its a verb, noun, singular, plural, dual etc We'll add some translation as well. Will take duas and some verses from quran and apply the grammar rules we have learnt
Duration: 12 Weeks (12 classes)
Date/Time: Sept 28th - Dec 14th 2014 - Every Sunday 11:00am - 12:30pm (except Thanksgiving weekend)
Cost: $100/adult or $10/class - 50% discount for students and family/group of 3+. financial assistance is also available for deserving individuals Ages: 11yrs and up (Brothers and Sisters)

8.MCWS Tech Club for Middle School and up! Register Today!

What: Monthly Workshop to provide kids opportunity to learn world of electronics.
When: Class Once every month - 10:00pm - 1:30pm
Where: MCWS Gym
Who: Middle School and higher along with their parents
Cost: $10 registration fee for each class.
Material: Arduino Starter kits to be provided to Kids (1 kit for 2 students) for use during the session. Request Kids/parents to bring their laptop. Kids can purchase these Kits online if they desire.
Goal: To provide a platform for teaching and skill development for electronics to community kids. Kids will be able to learn skills such as programming, electronic circuits and hardware. The platform will provide an opportunity for kids to work on different projects with the help off their parents.
